Sarah McMurchie

Sarah is a retired legal aid solicitor who moved to Bristol in 1980 to study law at UWE. Previously she taught in Lewisham and became involved with the Lewisham Law Centre during a period when the National Front were marching through the streets of Lewisham and children were being arrested on ‘suspicion’ of Criminal activity. After finishing her studies and articles, Sarah took a job with the ABLC which had previously run on a voluntary basis. Subsequently becoming a partner at Wards and Foster & Partners before moving to Cambridge and working on projects at Amnesty International and the College of Law. Upon returning to Bristol Sarah worked as an immigration solicitor and has been a supporter of ABLC both as a volunteer and trustee
