What to bring with you for Welfare Benefits Advice
Please bring with you what you have of the following papers when you visit the Law Centre for Welfare Benefits Advice:
Evidence of your (and your partner's) income
- last 3 month's payslips
- recent letters about any benefits you and your partner receive
- recent letters about any tax credits you and your partner receive
- recent letters about any pension and/or pension credit you or your partner receive
- recent bank statements
- statements from all the bank, Post Office and building society accounts held by you and your partner for the last 30 days. You can get these through online banking or ask your local branch.
- proof of your rent or mortgage liability and payments
- proof of your Housing Benefit award
- proof of any child care costs or maintenance you pay
- any other relevant documents or letters
If you cannot provide evidence of income you may still be able to get advice from the Law Centre.
